Job summary

A civil engineering contractor in South Wales is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs and ensure financial efficiency across various civils projects. Quantity Surveyor (Civil)

Permanent A well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across South Wales. They work on a wide range of civil works including highways, drainage, earthworks, and infrastructure developments. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in managing project costs from tender through to completion. You’ll be responsible for ensuring financial efficiency, maintaining commercial control, and supporting the successful delivery of multiple civils projects.

  • Prepare and manage project cost plans, estimates, and budgets
  • Handle procurement of subcontractors and materials
  • Manage valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Analyse project performance and report on commercial progress
  • Negotiate and agree subcontractor terms and payments
  • Provide commercial advice to operational teams
  • Ensure all work complies with contract and company standards
Skills & Experience
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of NEC contracts
  • Excellent attention to detail and cost control
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Good IT skills and experience with costing software
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
