Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying across pre- and post-construction phases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Quantity Surveyor include:

  • Pre-Contract Cost Management: Preparing cost plans, estimates and procurement advice
  • Post-Contract Administration: Managing valuations, variations, final accounts and reporting
  • Contract Administration: Administering construction contracts and managing change control
  • Client Liaison: Acting as a key point of contact and providing clear commercial advice
  • Risk Management: Identifying, managing and advising on project risks and opportunities
  • Project Delivery: Supporting successful delivery across multiple projects and sectors
  • Team Collaboration: Working with internal, design and construction teams
  • Mentoring Support: Assisting with the development of junior team members
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent discipline
  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying across pre- and post-construction phases
  • Previous experience of construction contract administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Commitment, enthusiasm and a proactive work ethic
  • Previous work experience in the UK with willingness to travel nationally
DESIRABLE
  • Experience delivering projects under different procurement routes
  • Client-facing experience providing commercial and strategic advice
  • Ability to manage day-to-day delivery and successfully manage change
  • Experience contributing to value management and value engineering
