A leading contractor in construction is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This position involves managing a variety of residential refurbishment projects across London and Hertfordshire. Overview

This main contractor is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, taking responsibility across a range of residential refurbishment and alteration projects throughout London and Hertfordshire. You'll be joining a stable, well‑run contractor delivering technically detailed refurbishment schemes within occupied and vacant buildings, ideal for a QS who enjoys hands‑on involvement, close collaboration with site teams, and the challenge of delivering projects within existing structures.

The business has been searching for the right profile for some time, following a recent departure, and they are focused on securing someone with strong refurbishment experience who can develop within the team and take ownership of their own packages.

The Role
  • Support procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages
  • Prepare tender enquiries, analyse returns and assist with issuing subcontract orders
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, variations and progress payments
  • Produce valuations, cost forecasts, CVRs and financial reporting
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure contract compliance
  • Support site teams with change control, measurement and commercial administration
  • Monitor risks and opportunities and provide commercial input throughout
  • Take day‑to‑day responsibility for commercial delivery on refurbishment projects
