Job summary

A leading construction firm in the UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor to join their rapidly expanding Water Frameworks division. The role involves managing project costs, budgets, and procurement while ensuring compliance with NEC and JCT contracts. Candidates should have experience in civil engineering and strong contractual knowledge. This is a full-time position based in Middlesbrough with competitive salaries up to £65,000.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a QS or SQS within civil engineering, water, utilities or groundworks.
  • Understanding of framework environments is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong contractual knowledge across NEC and JCT.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly commercial management including valuations and CVR reporting.
  • Managing project costs, budgets and forecasting.
  • Procuring and managing subcontractors.
  • Variation pricing and agreement of accounts.
  • Supporting pricing of early-stage works within the frameworks.

Senior Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor

Middlesbrough | Full-time | QS up to £50k / SQS up to £65k

The Company

As part of our expanding Water Frameworks division, we are delivering groundworks packages across the NWG and Yorkshire Water frameworks, while also pricing works for wider ecosystem supply chain contractors. Due to significant growth, we are seeking a Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor to join this busy and forward‑thinking team.

The Role

This role offers exposure to framework‑driven projects and ongoing repeat work. While the position covers typical commercial management, it also includes some upfront pricing during the early stages of projects, working closely with the project team. This is no more onerous than pricing larger variations and full support is provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monthly commercial management including valuations and CVR reporting
  • Managing project costs, budgets and forecasting
  • Procuring and managing subcontractors
  • Variation pricing and agreement of accounts
  • Supporting pricing of early‑stage works within the frameworks
  • Ensuring compliance with NEC and JCT contracts
  • Working closely with delivery teams across multiple live projects
Requirements
  • Experience as a QS or SQS within civil engineering, water, utilities or groundworks
