About the Company

We are a growing and forward‑thinking construction company delivering high‑quality refurbishment projects across the Derby area. With a strong pipeline of work and new contract wins, we are looking to expand our commercial team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor who can play a key role in the continued success of the business.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of commercial and financial management across a range of refurbishment projects, including council properties and commercial buildings. You will work closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the commercial aspects of refurbishment projects from inception to completion
  • Prepare, manage, and evaluate cost plans, valuations, and variations
  • Procure subcontractors, negotiate terms, and manage ongoing commercial relationships
  • Prepare and review tender documents and contracts
  • Provide accurate forecasting, budgeting, and cost reporting
  • Conduct site visits and work closely with project teams to monitor progress
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and contractual requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience within refurbishment projects—ideally council, local authority, or commercial sites
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processesExcellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Full UK driving licence
