Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of projects on site and learn from experienced professionals.
- Gain hands‑on experience and put your learning into practice.
- Overcome challenges on live projects and drive quality through effective planning.
- Be part of real construction projects and work closely with our skilled workforce.
- Apply your learning and knowledge in real world scenarios, manage contracts and monitor costs.
- Ensure any changes to cost and materials are recorded and support senior quantity surveyors and the site team.
- Work safely in line with company health and safety standards and maintain high environmental awareness.
- Assist in the implementation of appropriate construction solutions and negotiate with specialist contractors.
- Assist in measurement, costing, financial reporting, cash flow and cost forecasting, and the collection and storage of relevant data.
Qualifications
- Communication skills, IT skills, attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Problem solving, administrative and analytical skills, number and logical skills.
- Team working, initiative, non‑judgemental attitude and willingness to travel as required.
- Full UK driving licence.
Apprenticeship Programme
- 5‑year technical apprenticeship starts at Level 4; you will work towards a Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4) in Quantity Surveying and an HNC.
- After successful completion of the 2‑year Level 4 programme, you can progress to a 3‑year Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship, gain a full honours degree and work towards chartered membership of the CIOB.
- GCSE requirements: 5 × GCSEs (grade 9‑4, A‑C); English Language (grade 4 C or above); Maths (grade 5 B or above); A‑level in STEM, BTEC or T‑Level in Construction (grade Pass).
- University‑style experience while getting paid; block‑release accommodation in Leeds for 9 weeks a year (hotel accommodation provided and travel paid).
