Role Overview

We are seeking an IT Quality and Testing Specialist with a strong accounting background to lead and execute testing activities for accounting and financial software systems. The role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial applications, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, and audit‑related workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting & Financial Systems Testing
  • Design, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for accounting and finance software.
  • Validate financial calculations, postings, reconciliations, and reporting outputs.
  • Test end‑to‑end accounting workflows including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and period‑end close.
  • Ensure accounting logic is correctly implemented and aligned with business requirements.
• Quality Assurance & Defect Management
  • Identify, log, track, and validate defects using defect management tools.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and finance stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Verify fixes and ensure no regression in financial controls.
• Controls, Compliance & Audit Support
  • Test system controls relevant to financial governance and audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing test evidence and documentation.
  • Ensure data accuracy, traceability, and consistency across financial systems.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong accounting background (degree, qualification, or hands‑on accounting experience).
• Proven experience testing accounting or financial software systems.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, transaction lifecycles, and financial reporting.
• Experience with software testing methodologies and quality assurance best practices.
• Ability to translate accounting requirements into clear test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience testing ERP or accounting platforms such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Exposure to test automation tools or API testing frameworks.
• SQL or data validation experience.
• Experience working in regulated or audit‑driven environments.
• Familiarity with Agile or DevOps delivery models.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Accounting qualification (part‑qualified or qualified) preferred.
