Quality Technician Co-Ordinator

Our client has grown to be one of the UK's largest suppliers of building and construction steel coating solutions for the Process, Construction & Civils industries. This growth has seen the company turnover increase and their ability to service clients far beyond their expectations. With continued support for training with a guarantee that personal development will be encouraged and promoted our client is now looking to expand their operations in the Glasgow area with the recruitment of a Quality Technician Co-Ordinator.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Technician / Inspector / Engineer with some Health and Safety experience from within engineering production and manufacturing sectors to develop their skills and experience. The role will be responsible for general supervision of quality and auditing of the manufacturing process, inspection and test functions at every stage of the manufacturing process, whilst maintaining Quality and Health and Safety records and investigating issues onsite to allow compliance to all regulations. Supporting the National SQE and Production Teams with the ongoing development of Quality, Process Improvement, Health and Safety improvement activities within manufacturing processes. The expectation would be the applicant to follow established procedures and guidelines to test the organization's products according to quality specifications and standards, whilst performing function failure testing as well as physical defects. Assisting in the monitoring of training and development of production personnel in quality, safety, and environmental issues. Applicants should understand and implementing Quality and Health and Safety standards taking into account Company standards and UK legislation. Assists in providing ongoing feedback on quality and safety improvements through reporting of quality data from detailed analysis of machine performance, capability and variability of product conformance in accordance with specific British Standards.

The Applicant

Applicants who come from a Quality Assurance, Inspection, Testing, Technician role, with a little experience of Health and Safety working within manufacture and engineering would be best suited to this role. The role is very hands on, leading by example, delivering quality standards and analysis throughout the company and workshops.

We therefore require
  • knowledge of Quality Assurance Inspection/Testing
  • Process Improvement (CAF System, 5 Why, 8D)
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Self-motivated and confident.
  • Must be organised and an excellent communicator, focused on achieving targets and have a hands‑on approach.

You will possess previous Quality experience within a manufacturing environment. - preferably but not exclusively in the steel, manufacturing or heavy industry. Working Monday to Friday (8 hours a day between the hours7.00am - 6.00pm) making up a 40hr week.

Basic Salary £34-35K + Bonus + Full company benefits
