Overview

Oceaneering is a global provider of engineered services and products, primarily to the offshore energy industry. Responsibilities
  • Lead/Managerial Responsibilities
    • Manage and delegate the workload of QA/QC personnel; coordinate scheduling activities to ensure proper QA/QC coverage for all manufacturing, service, and purchasing activities.
    • Develop, maintain, and ensure implementation of conformance to inspection and testing plans (ITPs), Incoming Quality Control plans (IQCPs), quality plans, and interpret inspection results.
    • Define, identify, record, track and inform quality engineers and managers of non-conformances (i.e., when material/product is not in compliance with specifications or drawings) and COPQ (cost of poor quality).
    • Identify competency needs for quality personnel positions; coach, mentor and establish development plans to ensure effective performance and achievement of business objectives.
    • Maintain and trend Quality KPIs; link metrics to strategic operational objectives.
    • Manage the interface with customers and/or customer third parties for quality activities.
    • Support Quality organization in developing and understanding proper use of risk assessment, root cause analysis, non-conformance, corrective action, COPQ collection, and continuous improvement projects.
    • Represent the Quality function during internal/external meetings, milestone reviews, project kick-off meetings, design reviews, etc.
    • Assess and ensure appropriate application of six sigma process improvements (PFMEA, CTQ/CTP, Cpk, gage R&R, SPC) and associated controls.
    • Continually develop an Organizational Quality Culture through the use of QMS and continual improvement initiatives to build a culture of doing things right, from concept to delivery.
  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control Responsibilities
    • Maintain and support the Quality Management System (QMS) by reviewing, verifying, approving, and developing or facilitating the development of regional and/or local procedures, as necessary.
    • Support internal and external audits for site certifications; verify and distribute work to business units as necessary.
    • Develop and lead quality management reviews.
    • Ensure the independent asset, product, and component inspection function is in accordance with industry standards, regulatory statutes, and customer requirements.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • HNC/Diploma/associate’s degree, preferably in QA or related field and demonstrable relevant supervisory experience.

OR

  • Extensive related experience in a Supervisory Quality Assurance role.

DESIRED

  • Certified Auditor/Lead Auditor.
  • Green belt certified with proven experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics
    • Demonstrable knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO29001.
    • Knowledge and experience of ISO17020 & ISO17025 would be beneficial.
    • Knowledge of measurement techniques, inspection methods, and equipment.
    • Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), non-destructive examination methods, inspection and planning techniques.
    • Executes change and clearly communicates organizational value.
    • Ability to analyse situations using a variety of analytical techniques to make well-informed decisions.
    • Shares information, advice, and suggestions to help others be more successful; provides effective coaching.
    • Ability to recognise and determine the need to shift priorities and/or resources to maximise unit operations and address changes in goals and objectives.
    • Knows when to escalate critical issues to management if efforts to enlist support have not succeeded.
    • Ability to work in a team environment, be attentive to ideas, recognise responsibilities, and actively participate with others to accomplish assignments and achieve goals.
    • Clear understanding of robust QMS and how to drive implementation into business processes.
    • Understanding of and experience using data analysis tools (e.g., root cause analysis, Pareto charts).
    • 5-10 years’ relevant auditing experience.
    • Minimum 5 years’ relevant root cause analysis experience.
    • Previous work experience in oil & gas, automotive, or medical device field preferred.
