Quality Manager – Food Manufacturing

Location: Lancashire
Salary: Up to £58,000 per annum + bonus
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting exclusively on behalf of one of our valued clients in the food manufacturing sector.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a highly capable Quality Manager to oversee site Quality, Food Safety and Compliance. This role will report directly to the Technical Manager and is responsible for leading Quality standards, systems, audits, and data‑led improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Quality team, ensuring standards for safety, legality and product compliance.
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Support and collaborate with the Technical Manager on site standards and strategy.
  • Ensure full compliance with BRCGS, legal requirements, and major retailer/customer standards.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for customer quality queries and audits (not overall technical leadership).
  • Lead internal investigations, non‑conformance reduction, and complaint improvement actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, training, and performance metrics.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, NPD, Engineering and Supply Chain to deliver consistent quality.
About You
  • Experienced Quality or Senior QA professional within food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, food safety law, and retailer standards.
  • Skilled in influencing, training and supporting operational teams at all levels.
  • Good analytical thinking, problem solving, and ability to drive process improvements.
  • Passionate about Quality culture and operational excellence (without needing to lead Technical).
