Job description

Overview

Our client has been established for almost 40 years and are recognised market leaders in the design and development, manufacture and distribution of an impressive portfolio of cabling and connection solutions for supply throughout the world.

As part of a continued programme of strategic growth for 2025 and beyond, they are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Quality Inspector to complement their professional Manufacturing team. The role is based near Coleshill, West Midlands, with a salary of c£27k-£30k and generous benefits.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company's products meet all applicable quality standards before they go to market. This includes upholding safety standards during production, testing the product at various stages to ensure it meets all quality standards and listening to customer feedback about the product.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse previous quality problems and successes to drive continuous improvement and to support more efficient product development.
  • Design, review and update quality control policies and procedures; ensure quality check procedures are followed at every stage of production; document quality issues and create a system for recording such issues.
  • Create procedure checklists; coordinate with other Inspectors; train new staff; deal with customer feedback and complaints; test product materials from suppliers; work both autonomously and closely with fellow Quality Inspectors and the QHSE team.
  • Work as part of a team and align with company objectives to meet and exceed KPIs and metrics.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years' experience in a quality inspector role within an engineering or technical manufacturing environment.
  • Good GCSE and/or A-level grades; proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with a wide range of quality-related measuring equipment; experience of SAP/ERP; CQI membership is advantageous; strong understanding of industry safety standards and a continuous improvement mindset.
