Job Title: Quality Inspector

Location: Barnsley

Reports to: Quality Controller/Commercial Director

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week, day and late shifts available)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inspector to join a quality-focused manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will support production and quality departments by performing chemical analysis tests, dimensional inspections, and final inspections of manufactured parts. Strong attention to detail, accurate reporting, and a proactive approach to quality are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspection and Reporting:
    • Conduct internal chemical analysis of materials and generate material certificates.
    • Perform dimensional inspections using manual measuring tools such as micrometres, calipers, protractors, and gauges.
    • Record results accurately and generate reports for internal and customer use.
  • Drawing Interpretation:
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Equipment Calibration:
    • Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and maintained.
  • Non-Conformance:
    • Identify and report quality issues and non-conforming parts.
    • Participate in root cause analysis when required.
  • Safety:
    • Adhere to internal safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving inspection processes and product quality.
Shifts & Hours
  • Monday - Thursday: 06:00 – 16:30, 07:00 – 17:30, 16:30 – 03:00
  • Friday: 06:30 – 12:00
  • Hours will typically range from 09:00 – 20:00 Mon-Thu and 08:00 – 12:00 Fri
  • Flexibility required to cover both shifts and Friday mornings
