Quality & Environmental Manager

Location: London

Type: Full-time

Salary: £85,000-£95,000 all-in package

About the Role

You’ll lead and coordinate the Quality & Environmental function, ensuring systems, processes and standards are maintained, enhanced and fully embedded across the business. Based in London with regular visits to sites nationwide, you’ll drive consistency, compliance and continuous improvement across all projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate a strong Quality & Environmental Management System and support site/office teams with compliance.
  • Develop and implement KPIs, policies, procedures and systems aligned with the company’s Integrated Management System.
  • Lead the rollout of Procore across the business, becoming a Super User and providing ongoing staff training.
  • Conduct regular audits of Q&E systems and procedures, including site-based audits to ensure consistency.
  • Support external auditors for the maintenance and upgrading of ISO certifications.
  • Carry out routine audits of the Procore system to ensure uniform use across all projects.
  • Build strong internal relationships to ensure effective implementation of Q&E policies.
  • Promote continuous improvement by upskilling project teams and ensuring consistent standards across offices and sites.
  • Maintain and strengthen ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, while identifying potential additional beneficial systems.
  • Ensure Q&E processes align with the ISO 45001 Safety Management System through close collaboration with Safety Personnel.
  • Research, update and develop Quality Plans and Waste Management templates, delivering staff training when required.
  • Carry out environmental and quality-focused site inspections and report findings to Senior Management.
  • Monitor and drive the closeout of Q&E observations, non-conformances and system defects.
  • Provide weekly progress updates and performance reports to Senior Management.
  • Contribute to PQQ and tender submissions with Q&E‑related processes, data and KPIs.
  • Manage environmental document control including waste estimates, disposal logs and project records.
  • Support with additional duties as required by the company.
What You'll Need
  • Degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management or a similar discipline.
  • Strong understanding of large-scale construction project lifecycles, ideally with a main contractor background.
  • Excellent IT skills with strong knowledge of construction technology platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills — approachable, supportive and self-motivated.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Genuine interest in Quality and Environmental best practice.
  • Proven ability to deliver training, guidance and practical support.
  • Track record of delivering measurable results in previous roles.
  • Hands‑on approach with both detailed focus and strategic thinking capability.
