A leading performance motorsport team based in the UK is looking for a Quality Engineering Leader to oversee robust quality processes across manufacturing, supply chain, and design. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement, manage a team of Quality Engineers, and implement quality management systems. Ideal applicants will have over 5 years of experience in high-performance environments and possess strong leadership and communication skills. The position is based on-site in Basildon, offering a full-time role in a dynamic industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of Quality Engineers.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes across the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure supplier quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing and inspection teams.
  • Develop the quality management system and documentation.
  • Own internal audit systems and resolve non-conformances.
  • Own quality metrics for data-led decision-making.
  • Act as a key interface for quality-related issues.
  • Support reliability meetings and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work with Quality Control leadership to mitigate risks.

Overview

Lead the Quality Engineering function to ensure robust quality processes and standards across manufacturing, supply chain and design. Drive continuous improvement and resolution activities to deliver increases in right‑first‑time and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Define and implement the Quality Engineering strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage and develop a team of Quality Engineers, setting clear goals and performance measures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactive problem‑solving across the team.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes across the full product lifecycle – from concept through production.
  • Ensure supplier quality standards are met through audits, performance reviews and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing and inspection teams to embed quality principles early in development.
  • Develop the quality management system, processes and documentation to ensure robustness.
  • Own internal audit systems and ensure timely resolution of non‑conformances.
  • Own quality metrics that drive data‑led decision‑making.
  • Act as the key interface between engineering, operations and supply chain for quality‑related issues.
  • Support reliability meetings and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work with Quality Control leadership to ensure risks are understood and mitigated.
