Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery teams collate assurance evidence for works certification.
• Compile and review compliance evidence against project specifications.
• Support the Quality Manager in reviewing Inspection & Test Plans.
• Interface with the supply chain to promote quality standards.
• Undertake site surveillance to verify compliance.
• Provide feedback on QA performance.
• Support implementation of the project Quality Management Plan.

My client, an industry leading tier one civil engineering and construction firm are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team on a major highways and new roads scheme scheme.

Experience within the civil engineering industry is essential for this role, ideally coming from a main contractor background.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery teams progressively collate assurance evidence to certify the works
• Compile and review evidence for compliance against project specifications, drawings and industry standards
• Support the Quality Manager is reviewing Inspection & Test Plans and material approvals
• Interface with the supply chain to promote a right first time approach to works on site and ensure that Quality briefings are delivered regarding MSI standards and expectations for Quality
• Undertake site surveillance's to independently verify works are compliant
• Provide regular feedback to the delivery team Agent and Quality Manager on QA performance for the allocated sites
• Support the Quality Manager in the ongoing implementation of the project Quality Management Plan and integrated management system

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Highways Specification experience preferred
• Internal Auditor preferred
• PCQI preferred
• Have a wide understanding of the industry, including knowledge of materials, trades, methods and legal requirements
• Excellent working knowledge of industry techniques
• Good knowledge of relevant SHEQ requirements
• Be PC literate in Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat
• Pro active, can do attitude
• Ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision
• Ability to problem solve and analyse technical issues
• High level of attention to detail
