Job summary

A leading technology company is seeking a part-time Quality Controller to ensure compliance with quality management standards and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include maintaining ISO 9001 documentation, conducting audits, training staff, and reporting quality metrics. Ideal candidates will have proven experience in quality control, knowledge of relevant standards, and strong communication skills. The role offers flexible hours (8-12 per month) and is based in Newport, Isle of Wight.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Quality Controller or similar role.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
  • Experience with internal and external audits.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update QMS documentation in line with ISO 9001.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and implement corrective actions.
  • Deliver quality-related training to staff.
  • Provide regular quality performance reports to senior management.

Skills

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Controller to maintain and improve our Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

Main Duties
Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Maintain and update QMS documentation in line with ISO 9001 (or other applicable standards)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
Audits & Compliance
  • Plan and conduct internal audits
  • Co‑ordinate external audits and certification processes
Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and implement corrective actions
Training & Awareness
  • Deliver quality‑related training to staff
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement
Reporting
  • Provide regular quality performance reports to senior management
  • Track KPIs and implement improvement plans
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Quality Controller or similar role
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant standards
  • Experience with internal and external audits
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good Microsoft (Office) skills
Role Details
  • Employed and Self‑Employed considered
