Qualifications

The role

As a Quality Controller, you’ll ensure precision machined components meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. Your work will directly support critical marine projects that safeguard national security and public infrastructure. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact while advancing your career in a dynamic, innovative environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Confirm parts are identified and traceable to certification
  • Carry out visual inspections to verify conformance
  • Perform dimensional inspections using CMM, Faro Arm, and manual measuring equipment
  • Coordinate calibration of inspection tools
  • Maintain accurate and traceable inspection records

This role is full time OR part time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth.

Essential experience of the Quality Controller:
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerancing (GDT) standards
  • Strong mechanical and mathematical inspection skills
  • Skilled in using inspection and gauging tools (micrometres, thread gauges, Vernier callipers, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical standards and drawings
  • Experience in a machine shop or mechanical environment.
Qualifications for the Quality Controller:
  • SVQ / ONC in a relevant subject
  • Formal training in CMM or Faro Arm (preferred, training can be provided)
