Job Overview

JRS Associates have partnered up with a leading precision engineering company in Barnsley to recruit a Quality Controller on a full‑time, permanent basis. Package

Salary - £30,000 to £35,000 per annum

Shifts - Monday to Thursday, 8AM to 4PM & Friday, 8AM to 3PM

Overtime available at 1.5x

Company pension scheme (3% employer contribution, 5% employee contribution)

31 days holiday (inc bank holidays)

Duties
  • Inspect precision‑engineered components (visual and dimensional)
  • Use a range of measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, CMM where applicable)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Conduct in‑process and final inspections to agreed tolerances
  • Complete and maintain quality documentation (FAIR, inspection reports, NCRs, etc.)
  • Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process
  • Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards
Requirements
  • Proven background in a manufacturing / engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of precision component manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Proficient in using hand‑held measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.)
  • Knowledge of CMM equipment and programming (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible and proactive approach to work
