Quality Control Technician – Fabrication Workshop

Heathfield Industrial Estate, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ12 6TQ

Full‑time | Day Shift (07:00 – 15:30)

Salary: Dependent upon experience

Centristic Ltd is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician to join our fabrication workshop team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in steelwork and fabrication who takes pride in precision, detail, and ensuring the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular quality assessments on incoming materials and outgoing products.
  • Reject products and materials that do not meet company standards.
  • Inspect steel fabrication work on the shop floor, ensuring compliance with weld specifications, orientation, quality, and dimensions.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Measure product dimensions, check functionality, and verify against requirements.
  • Liaise with the Production Manager and workshop staff to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Recommend process improvements to maintain and enhance quality.
  • Document inspection outcomes with detailed reports and performance records.
  • Record goods in and goods out accurately.
  • Collate completed engineering drawings for database entry.
  • Resolve quality-related issues efficiently.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of steelwork and fabrication (essential).
  • Competent in MS Office applications.
  • Strong mathematical and technical skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and reporting abilities.
  • High attention to detail.
