Our Train Service Delivery department is integral to the smooth running of our trains and we currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the team as a Qualified Train Driver at Bishops Stortford.

The Role
  • this position will require you to work a combination of shifts which includes early starts, late finishes, weekend, and bank holiday working.
  • you will work an average of 35 hours per week, and shifts are over a 24-hour period.
  • full uniform will be provided, to ensure that you embrace our values and brand as a business.
  • candidates will be subject to a right to work check & dbs check for this position.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive trains safely, punctually, and economically in accordance with company rules & regulations.
  • Ensure all operations meet the needs and expectations of customers.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and other railway interfaces to support efficient service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Greater Anglia teams to ensure the smooth and reliable running of train services.

  • Demonstrate high levels of organisation, focus, and responsibility required for train driving.

  • Please note you must currently be working as a Qualified Mainline Driver for a train operating company in order to be considered for this position

With a team of around 3,000 colleagues, we operate 134 stations throughout Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk. Greater Anglia also operate Stansted Express services between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport.

Roles on the railway are very varied with everything possible from train driving, customer service, being involved with engineering, working in our control room or being part of the HR, finance, marketing, safety, train planning, or communications teams.
