Qualified Social Worker – Mental Health Team
Location: West Yorkshire
Pay Rate: £35 per hour

We're looking for experienced, passionate, and knowledgeable Qualified Social Workers to join the Adult Mental Health Service in West Yorkshire. If you're confident in working with complex cases and committed to safeguarding and empowering adults, this could be the role for you.

The Role:
As a key member of the Mental Health Team, you'll be working with adults across various stages of need – from safeguarding referrals to complex case management. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting Care Act assessments
  • Completing Mental Capacity Assessments
  • Managing safeguarding enquiries and Section 42 cases
  • Working closely with multi-agency partners
  • Participating in a duty rota within your allocated area
You'll be using your professional judgment, communication skills, and legal knowledge to ensure person-centred, rights-based outcomes.

What Youll Need:
We’re looking for someone who brings both experience and empathy to the role. You should have:
  • Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or Degree in Social Work)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • At least 4 years’ post-qualified experience
  • Solid understanding of key legislation including:
    • Care Act 2014
    • Mental Capacity Act 2005
    • Mental Health Act
    • Human Rights Act
  • Strong risk assessment, safeguarding, and case management skills
  • A person-centred approach, with an ability to work creatively and collaboratively

What We're Looking For:
  • Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience.
  • Background in CIN, CP, or court work.
  • Strong understanding of Child Protection legislation and direct experience with vulnerable children and families.
  • Effective at multi-agency working, assessment writing, planning, and direct work with children.
  • Positive, flexible, and forward-thinking.
  • Eager to deliver the best outcomes for children and families.
