Qualified SENCO (1 Day per Week) – Specialist SEN School in Erdington
Location: Erdington, Birmingham
Start Date: As soon as possible
Working Pattern: 1 day per week (Tuesday or Thursday)
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience
Contract Type: Ongoing / Part-Time

A specialist SEN school in Erdington, catering to students aged 11–16 with a range of complex learning needs, is seeking a qualified SENCO to join their dedicated team on a part-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable SEN professional who is passionate about inclusive education and is looking to contribute their expertise in a supportive, specialist environment without a full-time commitment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage SEN provision as a Qualified SENCO across the school in Erdington, in line with statutory requirements
  • Coordinate and review EHCPs in collaboration with teaching staff, families, and external professionals
  • Support teachers with effective strategies and resources for meeting the diverse needs of students
  • Ensure accurate SEN record-keeping, monitoring, and reporting
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive inclusive practice and continuous improvement
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it)
  • Proven experience in a Qualified SENCO role, ideally within a specialist or secondary setting
  • Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and current SEN legislation
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • A commitment to supporting students with complex needs to thrive
