About the Role

You will be entering into a structured programme to properly integrate and support newly qualified paramedics into the ambulance service workplace, enabling the time to consistently apply academic knowledge, skills, and placement experience into confident practice. The programme includes a two‑year consolidation period of learning, reflective practice, and feedback, with thorough direct and indirect clinical supervision to help you apply your knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake the structured two‑year consolidation period, including reflective practice and supervision.
  • Start your induction on 13th April 2026.
  • Complete a 6‑week full‑time training course on commencement of the role (2 weeks clinical, 4 weeks emergency driving).
  • Co‑operate with sector and station allocation discussions; once allocated, changes cannot be made.
  • Participate in pre‑employment checks, including a driving assessment.
Key Requirements
  • Full C1 driving licence with no more than 3 endorsement points (up to 6 points in exceptional circumstances).
  • Right to work and identity documents (e.g., UK passport, settlement status, or biometric residence permit).
  • Good health and satisfactory medical clearance (including Occupational Health).
  • Valid driving assessment outcome.
Training & Development

Following induction you will begin a continuous learning pathway that provides both clinical and practical skill development, supported by NHS training programmes and access to further development opportunities.

Working Conditions

All appointments are based on a negotiated sector allocation and a specific ambulance station. Sector/ station changes are final after the allocation discussion.
