Anexciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Dental Nurse to join the teamat the Leeds Dental Institute and Outreach sites, working across a range ofdepartments within the Clinical Service Unit (CSU).
Asa Qualified Dental Nurse you will be responsible for delivering exceptionalstandards of safe, effective care; monitoring and maintaining care to ensurethat it consistently meets Trust standards.
QualifiedDental Nurses work as a highly valued member of the Dental Team andapplicants should be enthusiastic, professional and well-motivated teamplayers whilst also being able to work on their own initiative.
Furtherprofessional development is strongly encouraged. There will be opportunitiesfor continuing professional development linked to a personal developmentplan.
Applicantsmust hold a NVQ level 3 Oral Health Qualification or equivalentNational/Hospital Certificate in Dental Nursing and be registered with theGeneral Dental Council. A post qualification certificate or additionalcompetencies are desirable.
Thepost is suitable for full-time (37.5 hours), part-time, or job sharearrangements (working days to be confirmed).
Workinghours - Monday-Friday - 8.30am - 5pm.
Thepost involves supporting and providing chair side assistance to themultidisciplinary dental team, including dental undergraduate andpostgraduate students in busy clinical areas within various departments ofthe Leeds Dental Institute and dental outreach sites.
Youwill be responsible for ensuring the correct equipment and instruments areavailable for surgery sessions, complete administrative tasks for patientsand daily running of surgeries.
Youmust have commitment to putting patients' needs first within a friendly,supportive, efficient, clean and safe environment, providing a high standardof care whilst always ensuring patients are treated with the utmost respect.
Youwill support the education and induction of apprentice dental nurses, dentalundergraduate and post graduate students.

JOBPURPOSE/SUMMARY
Preparefor and assist (closely support) clinicians, dental students and postgraduatestudents with care, treatment and management of patients with general andcomplex dental treatment.
Managethe preparation of the clinical areas ensuring a high standard of cleanlinesswithin the department and working to the hospital Infection Control Policy.
Communicatewith members of the multi-disciplinary team to facilitate continuity of careand promote effective team working.
Assistwith the teaching and supervision of learners and other staff.
Respectthe dignity and confidentiality of patients.
Maintaina high standard of work and professionalism.
Takeresponsibility for own personal development and complete all mandatorytraining required for the role.
