QHSE Manager | Lewes | £65,000 - £75,000

As the QHSE Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's integrated QHSE framework. You will ensure compliance with industry standards and relevant regulations while driving continuous improvement across quality, safety, and environmental performance.

This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams as well as engagement with global customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
  • Develop and maintain a certified quality management system aligned with ISO 9001.
  • Ensure compliance with standards relevant to electronic and mechanical manufacturing.
  • Lead quality planning, process validation, and automotive customer submissions (PPAP).
  • Oversee QA and QC activities, ensuring effective resourcing.
  • Build strong communication channels with OEM customers and international subsidiaries.
Health & Safety
  • Ensure full compliance with occupational H&S regulations, including ESD safety, machine safety, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Conduct risk assessments, deliver safety training, and maintain safe working practices.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses and manage corrective action activities.
Environmental Management
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 14001 and support environmental programs (chemical management, e-waste, resource efficiency).
  • Monitor compliance with RoHS, REACH, and other environmental requirements.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead improvement initiatives using tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Manage document control across QHSE documentation and SOPs.
  • Track, analyse, and report QHSE KPIs (defect rates, customer returns, audits, safety metrics).
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' QHSE experience in electronics or mechanical manufacturing.
Strong working knowledge of:
  • ISO 9001, ISO 14001
  • IATF16949 core tools (APQP, Control Plans, PPAP, RCA)
  • Proficiency with QHSE software systems and MS Office
