Job summary

A global biopharmaceutical company in Wrexham is seeking a QC Microbiology Specialist to support operations through microbiological testing and data review. Key responsibilities include leading investigations, conducting environmental monitoring, and training team members. Candidates should have experience in a GMP-regulated microbiology lab, proficiency in microbiological techniques, and a relevant life sciences degree. The position is shift-based, requiring flexibility with a 4 on/4 off schedule.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role in a GMP-regulated microbiology lab (pharma or biopharma).
  • Proficiency in environmental monitoring, bioburden testing, and microbial identification.
  • Degree in a relevant life sciences subject (Microbiology preferred).
  • Ability to work according to shift pattern (4 on/4 off days 8am-7pm).

Responsibilities

  • Perform and review microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and final products.
  • Lead investigations into OOS/OOT results and support CAPA implementation.
  • Conduct environmental and utility monitoring in cleanroom and controlled environments.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure inspection-readiness.
  • Provide training in microbiological techniques and support team development.
  • Drive process improvements and support validation and project work.

As a QC Microbiology Specialist, you will support technical operations through microbiological testing, data review, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a shift-based role consisting of 4 on/4 off days from 8am to 7pm.

Key Responsibilities
