Quality Manager

Hitchin, Hertfordshire £40,000 - £45,000 DOE

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality standards at a busy food manufacturing site. Within the role you will need to take ownership of the Hitchin site and drive quality standards across the operation. This is a key leadership role, ensuring compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop the onsite QA team (Quality Specialists, Lab Team, Hygiene Team).
  • Drive quality culture across the operations department.
  • Investigate and manage customer complaints – going beyond emails to find root causes and implement solutions.
  • Develop and implement the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Manage internal and external audits (including BRC and customer audits).
  • Oversee non‑conformance reporting and corrective actions.
  • Take ownership of incident investigations and ensure robust follow‑up.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a Quality Management role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of BRC standards and auditing processes.
  • Ability to lead audits independently and confidently.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • A hands‑on leader who can inspire and develop teams.
