MCS Group is seeking a QA Engineer to join one of their closest clients, a fast-growing Insurtech firm. With huge investment onboard in 2025, this firm's technology function is planning to scale by over 50% in the first half of 2026 and this will include it's quality assurance division. An exclusive role to MCS Group, the QA Engineer will champion quality across their product suite and play a key role in embedding test automation into the organisation. You'll work within a high-performing engineering team to ensure their distributed, enterprise-grade software is reliable, scalable, secure, and built to last.
This is a hybrid role in Belfast, interviewing before the Christmas holidays!
The Software Tester will play a key role in the quality strategy for their engineering pod, delivering both manual and automated testing across web apps, APIs, and cloud services.
You’ll build and maintain automated test suites using modern frameworks (Selenium, Cypress and Playwright).
You’ll develop functional, integration, performance, and security tests, ensuring seamless third-party integration.
Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Platform Engineers, and Product to embed quality early ("shift-left") in the development lifecycle.
Validate developer unit tests and ensure alignment with business requirements.
Drive continuous quality through CI/CD integration and strong version‑control practices.
Conduct performance and load testing to assess scalability and reliability.
Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to validate infrastructure and service integrations.
You’ll have solid commercial experience in software testing, including automation and quality engineering.
Strong scripting/programming skills in either JavaScript or C#.
Expertise with modern test automation frameworks.
Experience testing cloud-based systems and microservices.
Hands‑on API testing experience (Postman or similar).
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).
Passion for high-quality software, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to challenge when needed.
