Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in manufacturing is seeking a Production Control & Purchasing Administrator to manage production data and assist procurement processes. The role is based in Norwich and offers a full-time temp contract with possible progression to a permanent position. Ideal candidates will have ERP system experience, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and administrative skills within a manufacturing environment. This is an on-site position with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

  • Experience with manufacturing related ERP systems, not specific to any one system.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.
  • Background in admin and transactional roles is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and input production timesheet data into the Dynamics system.
  • Assist in preparing production work-order packs for distribution.
  • Help process supplier order acknowledgments.

Job description
Production Control & Purchasing Administrator

Contract: Fulltime temp, 6 months initially (possible extension to permanent)
Location: Norwich
Pay: £14.25 - £14.50 p/hr
Hours: 39 hours a week, Mon-Fri, flexible within working hours (on site only—no home working)

Technique Recruitment Solutions is working with our Norwich based client, a major manufacturer of special purpose machines in the food industry, with products sold and installed worldwide.

We are seeking a candidate with an eye for detail; most tasks involve inputting data and printing but can also cover the purchaser, communicating with suppliers.

Working within a small team of 4, there is scope for progression and potentially a permanent position.

Daily Functions
  • Collecting & inputting all production timesheet data into the Dynamics system.
  • Assisting the Production Control Co‑ordinator in preparing all production work‑order packs for distribution (work‑orders, drawings, and pick lists).
  • Assisting the Buyer in processing supplier order acknowledgments.
  • Generating general spares back‑order report.
Other/Wkly/Monthly Functions
  • Assisting the Production Control Co‑ordinator with checking and financial ending of all production orders.
  • Assisting the Buyer with monitoring and chasing suppliers.
  • Assisting the team with general administrative tasks.
  • Covering for the Production Control Manager as required (backup only).
  • Performing any other related duties as reasonably required by the Company.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Manufacturing related ERP system experience (specific system not essential).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • General admin and transactional experience.
  • Knowledge of working within an engineering/manufacturing business or any technical knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
