Overview

RM Recruit are excited to be working with a Birmingham-based not-for-profit organisation who are seeking an experienced and articulate Purchase Ledger Manager to join their finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and oversee the Accounts Payable function, ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently while supporting the organisation's wider financial operations.

The position is full-time office based from Monday - Friday and is being offered on a temporary to permanent basis (initially 3 months), with strong potential for a permanent appointment for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Oversee supplier relationships and resolve queries efficiently.
  • Review and improve AP processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant financial regulations.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the team to maintain high performance standards.
About You
  • Proven experience managing an Accounts Payable function, ideally within a not-for-profit, public sector, or complex organisation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident in using financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
