A local health organization is seeking a Public Health Assistant/Screener to support the health and wellbeing of school-age children in the area. This role involves delivering health screening, promoting healthy behaviors, and supporting families in accessing necessary services. Candidates should have an NVQ level 3 or equivalent and experience working with children in community settings. This is a vital role to ensure children's health, with a salary range of £24,937 to £26,598 per annum pro rata.

The post holder will work within the Public Health Stream within the 0-19 Service to promote the health and wellbeing of school age children so they are able to reach their full potential and not be disadvantaged through ill health.
The Screener will have a key responsibility in undertaking the school health screening and surveillance programme. They will play an integral part in supporting the delivery of Key Improvement Priorities and supporting the wider team to deliver high quality services for families living in Westmorland and Furness.
The post holder will deliver key areas of the service specification, national Healthy Child Programme and public health outcomes framework. They will refer to specialist service in accordance with clinical pathways and support children and families to seek support where required.
The post holder will enter data results onto the computer child health system and local systmone.
The post holder will work alongside other professionals in the public health pillar delivering key health promotion messages to support the health and wellbeing of children ensuring every contact counts through the promotion of good health and the prevention of ill health in the community. They will assist in the development of Health Promotion Group programmes when required including supporting the 0-19 service in the delivery of key school transition sessions.
