The position offers £13.70 per hour on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday.
Are you a psychology, criminology or sociology graduate looking for a meaningful role where you can make a difference to young people’s lives? This Teaching Assistant position offers the chance to support secondary students with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), autism and learning disabilities. Your understanding of behaviour, motivation and development can help you connect with children who may struggle in a traditional classroom. You’ll be working in partnership with a well-regarded school in Bath that is known for its inclusive ethos. The most recent OFSTED report praised the strong pastoral support and positive relationships between staff and pupils, highlighting the school’s commitment to helping every child feel valued and understood. This makes it a welcoming place for both staff and students, where support staff are seen as an essential part of the team. The role involves supporting Key Stage 3 and 4 students on a full-time basis. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, at a rate of £13.70 per hour. The position starts as soon as possible and, after a 16-week settling-in period, has the potential to become permanent. We are not necessarily looking for people with direct classroom experience — what matters most is your personality, motivations and values. If you are calm, resilient and passionate about helping vulnerable young people thrive, this could be the perfect role for you. Graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, support workers and anyone looking for a purposeful career change are encouraged to apply. This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to have a real impact on young lives while building your own skills and experience in education.
