Qualifications

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Experience in a paediatric or CAMHS setting.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools ADOS-2, 3Di (training provided).
  • Excellent report writing, formulation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Overview

Job Title: Psychologist – Autism Pathway. Location: London. Contract Type: Insourcing – Fixed-Term (30 Weeks initially). Start Date: ASAP. Hours: Flexible (Full or Part-Time Options Considered). Rate: Competitive Daily Rate.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Psychologist (Clinical, Educational or Counselling) to support our Autism (ASD) assessment service as part of an insourcing contract. This 30-week fixed-term role is focused on reducing waiting times for neurodevelopmental assessments within the paediatric autism diagnostic pathway.

You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, contributing to timely, high-quality autism assessments and diagnostic formulations. Clinics will be based at a single site with full administrative and clinical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver structured neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people referred for suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Participate in multidisciplinary diagnostic formulation in line with NICE guidelines
  • Utilise diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2, 3Di, and structured clinical interviews
  • Communicate effectively with families, schools, and external agencies throughout the assessment and feedback process
  • Produce high-quality clinical documentation and diagnostic reports
  • Support the service in maintaining compliance with quality standards and help reduce assessment backlogs efficiently
