Salary: £28,000 per annum

Working hours: Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

As a Property Negotiator at Serco we work closely with the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services (AASC) contract to secure suitable accommodation for asylum seekers. The position involves identifying, procuring and managing properties that meet AASC and national housing standards, ensuring safe, habitable and fully equipped homes for vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively search for new properties in targeted areas through local estate agents, area visits, media and landlord relationships.
  • Assess the fit of property prospects to AASC requirements, progressing or rejecting them and setting appropriate negotiation targets.
  • Estimate the approximate value of remedial works required to bring properties to contract standards and incorporate these costs in negotiations.
  • Select and negotiate the most appropriate landlord lease agreement and rental terms directly with landlords.
  • Complete and check all required paperwork – including EPC certificates, proof of ownership, planning permissions, meter readings, Local Authority Building Control applications and related documentation.
  • Ensure that all procured properties are safe, habitable, fit for purpose and fully equipped in accordance with AASC standards.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum GCSE education.
  • At least 2 years working within a property‑related industry.
  • Clean driving licence preferred.
