Project Planner – Site Based (Fixed-Term Contract)

Contract: Approx. 30-week fixed-term contract

Location: Site Based – Trawsfynydd.

Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 per annum

Reporting to: Contracts Director

About the Opportunity

ESD Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading UK demolition and deconstruction contractor delivering complex projects within highly regulated environments, including the nuclear and infrastructure sectors.

The business is recognised for its strong safety culture, technical expertise, and ability to successfully deliver major, long-term, site-based works. Operating on some of the UK’s most challenging projects, they work closely with clients, regulators, and third-party stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of planning, compliance, and delivery.

Role Overview

The Project Planner will be site based and responsible for undertaking planning, scheduling, and performance monitoring activities on a large-scale demolition and deconstruction project.

The role requires strong experience in producing, maintaining, and reporting on NEC4-compliant programmes, working closely with project teams and external stakeholders to ensure programme certainty throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce, update, and manage detailed programmes of works
  • Develop programmes from first principles
  • Apply three-point estimating, time risk allowances, and risk-adjusted scheduling
  • Monitor progress, collect site data, and produce performance reportsMaintain accurate and up-to-date schedules throughout the duration of the project
  • Review progress with the project team and report variances
  • Attend project meetings with internal teams, clients, and third parties
  • Ensure programme data accuracy and integrity
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience planning major demolition and deconstruction projects
  • Experience working on complex construction projects at project level
  • Strong understanding of NEC4 programming requirements
  • Proficient in planning software including:
  • Asta Powerproject
  • Primavera P6
  • Microsoft Project
