Job summary

A global engineering consultancy is seeking a Project Planner to lead and manage programme schedules in the technical consultancy services sector. Job description Project Planner Jacobs are looking for Project Planners who will lead and manage programme schedules in technical consultancy services to major clients in the E&P sector delivering a range of multi-disciplinary projects. As a Project Planner, you'll be working closely with project managers, engineers and the commercial team to ensure programmes are logic driven, credible, and contractually compliant. The work is varied, fast‑paced and genuinely important to how decisions are made.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain fully logic‑linked P6 programmes
  • Baseline, update and progress schedules to agreed timelines
  • Produce monthly updates, narratives and progress reports
  • Identify critical path, float issues and key programme risks
  • Support change control and compensation events
  • Run programme integrity checks and resolve logic or constraint issues
  • Work with the commercial team on time‑impact assessments
  • Support budget planning and cost estimation when needed
  • Flag potential delays and recommend corrective actions
  • Challenge incomplete inputs and ensure timely progress updates
  • Maintain programme documentation, reports and change logs
  • Ensure compliance with Jacobs' planning standards and procedures
  • Attend meetings and present programme updates when required
  • Conduct post‑project reviews and contribute to process improvements
Qualifications and Experience
  • A strong understanding of Primavera P6 – confident, hands‑on user
  • Understanding of critical path & float, activity relationships, baseline management, filters/layouts, import/export programmes, activity codes, calendars
  • A strong understanding of schedule integrity principles (DCMA / Best Practice)
  • Experience in creating impact / claim programmes is desirable
  • Knowledge of NEC forms of contract will be beneficial
