Project Manager – Walt Disney Imagineering (4‑year fixed‑term)

About the Role & Team

As a Project Manager at Walt Disney Imagineering UK, you will report to the Senior Project Manager and play a pivotal role in delivering innovative, first‑of‑their‑kind projects. You'll be part of a newly formed team in London supporting the expansion of the Disney Cruise Line portfolio. Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative force that imagines, designs, and brings to life all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions, and cruise ships worldwide. It works across a spectrum of disciplines from creative and conceptual to scientific and technical, blending storytelling, art, science, and technology to create immersive experiences and innovative entertainment for families worldwide.

This role will require you to be onsite 4 days a week with opportunities for short periods of travel. It is a fixed‑term contract until December 2029.

What You Will Do
  • Support and collaborate with the Senior Project Manager on all aspects of project management, from scope, schedule, budget, quality, and delivery under minimal supervision.
  • Set priorities and provide direction to project teams.
  • Develop integrated delivery strategies, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Lead change management and risk mitigation and contingency efforts.
  • Prepare and negotiate basic contracts and manage contractor compliance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to influence timelines and outcomes.
  • Develop the Capital Authorization Requests.
  • Track project documentation and ensure quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Significant experience in a large‑scale project management architecture or construction management environment.
  • Experience in shipbuilding, cruise ships, or themed entertainment.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, including communications for executive management.
  • Ability to read and coordinate drawings and 3D using the Autodesk suite.
  • Strong knowledge of project management capabilities.
  • Expert user of MS Office suite (especially MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to guide the project team toward resolution of issues through strong facilitation skills, including designers, architects and construction managers.
  • Influence senior management in decision making regarding complex issues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with studios, WDI partners, vendors, and consultants.
  • Influence commercial and schedule issues through clear identification of critical issues and drivers, thoughtful analysis, and well‑articulated positions.
  • Confidence in guiding teams in a highly matrixed and international environment.
  • A collaborative spirit and a passion for storytelling through design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, architecture, construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in shipbuilding, cruise ships, or themed entertainment highly desirable.
