Life on the team

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join our Smart Infrastructure team at Computacenter on a permanent basis. You will deliver structured cabling and related technology projects onsite at Heathrow Airport. You will plan and control daily activities in customer projects and minor works, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality. You will respond to customer scope and survey requests to enable accurate quotations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver site-based project activities, adhering to cost targets, company standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Ensure works meet customer satisfaction and installation standards.
• Support the onsite Project Management team in maximizing revenue through scope growth and variation orders.
• Ensure projects comply with company and customer processes, procedures, and statutory obligations.
• Provide timely resource and cost predictions, working closely with resource management.
• Generate Risk Assessments and Method Statements to required standards.
• Coordinate permits to enable timely project delivery.
• Maintain professional project planning throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide accurate internal and customer project reports.
• Order required materials promptly for each project.
• Prioritize health and safety for employees and third parties, complying with all obligations.
• Participate in training to achieve essential company qualifications and accreditations.

Requirements

• Supervisory experience in the structured cabling industry.
• Experience in project management controls, including initiation, change, risk management, and project planning.
• Deep knowledge of structured and optical cabling systems.
• Ability to work under demanding time constraints.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong technical understanding of structured cabling design and technologies.
• Articulate, self-motivated, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
• Knowledge of safe construction site management, SMSTS qualification or equivalent.
• Valid ECS health & safety card.
• Experience in airport or similar industries is beneficial.
• 5-year referencing required for Airside pass.
