Job description

This isn’t your average Project Manager role. We're working with a leading specialist engineering business working on some of the UK’s most complex and high profile projects. They design, manufacture, install, and maintain critical systems that keep major structures moving and performing safely. No two days will ever be the same. One week you could be overseeing a complex installation, the next you’re working with senior engineers to solve a technical challenge, or sitting with clients to shape the delivery of a project that really makes an impact.

You’ll take ownership of projects from start to finish, leading site operations, managing subcontractors, solving technical problems, and being the key link between clients, suppliers, and internal teams. This is a role where you’ll see the direct results of your work, with projects that are high value, highly visible, and critical to the UK’s infrastructure.

You’ll be responsible for leading projects from handover through to final sign-off, managing site teams, resources, and specialist subcontractors to ensure smooth delivery. You’ll drive progress meetings, keeping budgets, KPIs, and milestones firmly on track, while problem-solving technical challenges with the support of expert colleagues. A key part of the role will involve building trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders, ultimately handing over projects that you can genuinely be proud of.

The ideal candidate will come from an engineering or technical project management background, with proven confidence in managing budgets, contracts, and risk. You’ll have experience leading teams and subcontractors, paired with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive under pressure. Flexibility to travel across the UK for site-based work is essential for success in this role.
