Job Title: Project Manager - Earthworks (Rail Experience Preferred) | Location: West Yorkshire
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and deliver earthworks projects across West Yorkshire, with a particular focus on schemes within or adjacent to the rail sector. The role requires a proactive leader with excellent stakeholder management skills, strong commercial awareness, and proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, management, and delivery of earthworks projects in line with client requirements, budget, and programme.
- Manage multi-disciplinary teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Oversee project finances including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
- Liaise with rail stakeholders, landowners, and local authorities to maintain clear communication and resolve project challenges.
- Prepare and review project documentation including risk assessments, method statements, and progress reports.
- Support business development by identifying opportunities and assisting with tenders/bids.
Requirements
- Demonstrable project management experience within earthworks, civil engineering, or related infrastructure projects.
- Ideally, experience delivering works in a rail environment, with knowledge of Network Rail standards and procedures.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge (NEC contracts preferred).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, project management, or equivalent experience.
- SMSTS, PTS, and other relevant industry accreditations (preferred but not essential).
