Job description

Join our journey to create a new experience for the National Lottery and help us to power change for the greater good.

About us:

We are Allwyn UK, part of the Allwyn Entertainment Group – a multi-national lottery operator with a market-leading presence in Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Cyprus and Italy. We are the operator of the Fourth License (10-year license) for the National Lottery since February 2024.

We’ve developed ground-breaking technologies, built player protection frameworks, and have a proven track record of making lotteries better. Our aim is to create one of the UK’s most inclusive organisations – where people can bring the best of themselves, to do their best work, every day, for the benefit of good causes.

While the main contribution of the National Lottery to society is through the funds to good causes, at Allwyn we put our purpose and values at the heart of everything we do. Join us as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, large-scale transformation journey to build a bigger, better, and safer National Lottery that delivers more money to good causes.

Role Purpose

To lead the planning and management of the end-to-end delivery of new Digital Ways to Play, ensuring the successful coordination of a cross functional team, external partners, regulatory compliance and stakeholder alignment.

This role is critical to the timely, compliant and commercially effective launch of new Ways to Play that support the National Lottery’s strategic objectives and player experience.

Role Responsibilities
  • Lead the full project lifecycle for a Digital launch, from concept finalisation through to go-live and post-launch stabilisation.

  • Coordinate internal BAU teams across Digital, Technology, Product, Marketing, Retail, Compliance, Legal, Security and Operations.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with third party suppliers including systems, technology, digital, regulatory bodies, marketing etc.
  • Manage dependencies across the programme, e.g. Digital platform, regulatory submissions, retail channel readiness etc. Work closely with cross-functional teams across Allwyn (Change & Portfolio, Technology, Marketing, Brand, Legal and Regulations) to optimise delivery quality.
  • Feed into quarterly planning cycles, drawing regular outputs in order to facilitate regular project governance meetings, providing senior stakeholders with accurate reporting and actionable insights as required within governance forums, Working groups and Steering meetings.
  • Ensure all launch activities comply with the Gambling Commission regulations and assurance gates.
  • Drive a robust UAT and launch readiness plan and manage business change activities.
  • Hold self and team accountable, champion delivery discipline, change control and quality assurance.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Project management and delivery within a Digital /Agile environment (i.e. familiar with iterative Digital planning cycles and relevant tools such as JIRA).
  • Experience managing highly complex projects with a core digital/technology component.
  • Experience delivering projects within a highly regulated, consumer facing environment (gaming, financial services etc).
  • Track record of launching high impact products or services involving multi business units and third-party supplier management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to convey concepts coherently to internal and external stakeholders, including executive sponsors and regulatory bodies.
  • The ability to work within high levels of ambiguity, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Experience in matrixed environments, with a track record of leading high performing project teams.
  • Strong written accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to manage a diverse range of projects across multiple business functions and subject matter areas—not limited to digital initiatives—adapting quickly to new contexts and priorities.
