Project Manager - Heavy Civils

Location: London and South East (Office Based in Kent)
Sector: Civil Engineering & Infrastructure

Employment Type: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major civil engineering projects involving a mix of civils and marine works. This role is ideal for a driven professional with a proven ability to manage complex construction projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of heavy civil projects, including planning, execution, and close-out
  • Oversee marine-related activities such as quay walls, piling, dredging support works, coastal structures, or marine infrastructure (as applicable)
  • Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure programme and quality targets are met
  • Control project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting
  • Ensure full compliance with HSEQ standards and contractual requirements
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, local authorities, and marine stakeholders
  • Identify and manage project risks, opportunities, and change control
  • Prepare progress reports and contribute to commercial and programme reviews

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager (roads, structures, earthworks, concrete, utilities, or similar)
  • Marine construction experience (e.g. marine piling, marine earthworks, dredging and coastal works) is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering contracts (using NEC)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts in challenging environments
  • Relevant engineering or construction qualification preferred
