Project Manager
Location: North West England (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 + Benefits

About the Role

Butler Rose are exclusively supporting a respected and growing organisation in Lancaster who are seeking an ambitious Project Manager to join their successful Projects function. Operating within a fast‑paced environment and delivering varied, business‑critical programmes, this opportunity would suit a confident communicator with a strong track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Purpose

You will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of allocated projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in line with customer expectations. Working closely with internal teams, external partners, and clients, you will drive effective coordination and ensure collaborative project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee full project lifecycles, maintaining control of scope, budget, timeline, and quality
  • Coordinate internal teams, external suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive delivery
  • Manage resource allocation and monitor performance against agreed milestones
  • Maintain robust project documentation including risk logs, communication strategies, and progress reports
  • Proactively identify, record, and mitigate project risks and issues
  • Provide regular reporting to both internal stakeholders and clients
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and third‑party partners
  • Monitor the delivery of subcontractors against required standards
  • Support continuous improvement by evaluating outcomes and contributing to best practice sharing
  • Mentor Project Co‑ordinators as needed within the function
  • Support enhancements to processes and procedures to improve efficiency and consistency

A background check may be required as part of the onboarding process.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Proven experience managing small to medium‑scale projects
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience scheduling resources and coordinating delivery teams
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Desirable:

  • Experience working on projects within or for the public sector
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and software such as MS Project
  • A recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM, PMI or equivalent)
