Job description

Horshader Community Development Trust is looking for a Project Manager to help deliver a set of projects that will shape life across South Shawbost, Dalbeag, and Dalmore.

This is a permanent, full time post with a salary between £35,000 and £40,000, and the work will run at the heart of community regeneration on the west side of Lewis.

This is a three year position with an early focus on three major pieces of work.

The refurbishment of The Old School Centre and the careful reallocation of the groups who use it.

A community woodland project that is moving from its final design stages into early delivery.

A renewable energy feasibility study looking at new power generation for the area.

You will sit within the Trust’s small team, reporting day to day to the Business Manager and working closely with the Development Officer and Trustees.

Your work will include planning and delivering project timelines.

Managing contracts, procurement and compliance.

Keeping budgets on track and meeting funder conditions.

Leading community consultation and making sure projects reflect local needs.

Reporting clearly to funders, Trustees and the wider community.

Maintaining project records, risk registers and documentation.

Helping identify future opportunities and shaping early stage feasibility work.

This is a substantial role with direct community impact.

Essential
  • Evidence of project management in any sector.
  • Experience of managing budgets of £100,000 or more.
  • Strong organisational ability with clear communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of procurement and contract management.
  • Comfort working independently and as part of a small team.
Desirable
  • Experience of community or third sector projects.
  • Understanding of refurbishment, land management or natural capital work.
  • Exposure to renewable energy feasibility and regulatory frameworks.
  • Any formal project management qualification.
  • Gaelic, or a willingness to learn.
