Job summary

A Norwich-based engineering firm is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to manage projects, coordinate service engineers, and assist in business development. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical customer accounts, mechanical engineering, and logistics knowledge. Travel to customers and suppliers abroad is required. The role offers training as necessary and the chance to work in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Access software preferred.
  • Willingness to travel overseas to visit customers and suppliers.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.

  • Liaise with the PPI Engineering team across departments.

Overview

Project Engineer
My client is a Norwich based engineering company which specialises in the design, manufacture, supply and support of rotating electrical machines and associated equipment. They have a requirement for a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will have previous experience in handling technical customer accounts in a manufacturing or engineering business. The individual should be self-motivated, flexible and have some mechanical engineering and logistics knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Manage current projects and deliver on time, in budget.
  • Coordinate service engineers.
  • Assist in the development of new business in the UK and overseas.
  • Liaise with the PPI Engineering team across departments in the UK and the commercial office in China.
  • Liaise, negotiate and build relationships with suppliers and customers worldwide.
  • Provide technical, commercial and logistics support as required.
  • Some clerical/admin tasks - raising purchase orders, invoices and shipping documents.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • A knowledge of Microsoft Office and Access software would be an advantage.
  • The successful applicant would also be required to travel overseas to visit customers and suppliers.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
  • Training will be provided as required.
