A leading engineering firm is seeking a Project Field Engineer in Preston to oversee the installation and maintenance of material handling systems. The role requires an engineering qualification and significant experience with hands-on equipment. You will work mainly at customer sites and ensure quality and safety standards are met. Qualifications

Job Summary

The field engineer is responsible of the installation and the maintenance of custom machines (material handling & fastening systems) at Preston workshop & mainly at customer plants. Focused on quality and safety.

12-month fixed-term contract with extension option

Responsibilities

• Set up machines at Preston for sign off with the customers


• Organise delivery to the end user


• Manage the installations in autonomy (prevention plans lifting means etc.)


• Set up machines at customer sites


• Refine settings


• Diagnose and fix potential failures

Basic Qualifications

• Qualification in mechanical or electro technical engineering

Travel & Work Arrangements / Requirements

• Predominant location : Ford Halewood Liverpool


• Few trips : Preston UK


• Punctual trips : other customers in the UK

Key Competencies

• Experience of 3 years at a similar position in an industrial environment


• Good skills with hand tools power tools and good practices for mechanical pneumatic and electric assembly


• SolidWorks CAD software only for visualisation


• Forklift driving license / MEWP driving license / Working at height permit
