Job Summary

WMG is a vibrant, cutting‑edge research institution at the University of Warwick, one of the world’s leading research and education groups with state‑of‑the‑art technologies. WMG hosts one of the seven centres for High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult and is undertaking a programme of research and engineering across the verification and validation of automated transport (land, air and marine). The programme ranges from fundamental research to applied research, the development of policy, standards and regulation, and direct commercial research, having a material impact on the creation and application of novel safety assurance methods across emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying systems engineering concepts and automated vehicle operation to develop tests that verify and validate system requirements. This includes developing scenarios, coverage metrics, operational design domain, and test scenarios.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the application of systems engineering concepts and automated vehicle operation.
  • Good understanding of concepts such as ontology, scenario generation, coverage metrics, operational design domain, and test scenarios for testing to verify and validate system requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of standards such as SAE J3016, ISO 21434, ISO 50832 and other relevant safety standards in automated driving.
  • Education and employment history, including the most recent employment.
  • Relevant experience such as volunteering, extracurricular activities, or other relevant experience.
