We are now looking for a Project Engineer – Mech / Elec (Pump systems) to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent, and the preferred location is Havant, Hampshire, but hybrid working arrangements are possible.

Responsibilities
  • Project management and technical specification, configuration, and support activities for externally manufactured electro/mechanical products, especially related to pump systems for vessels.
  • On time delivery and correct quality of product manufacture and support data for above products.
  • Project monitoring and recording changes.
  • Compliance with Export Control requirements.
  • Time management and general organisational skills.
  • Develop knowledge base of product specification and integration within wider team.
  • Work well within the Engineering and the wider WDSL team.
  • Mentor junior members of the team.
Project Engineer responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate Engineering projects especially related to marine pump systems.
  • Ensure compliance to specific codes and adherence to the Engineering Business Management System (BMS) and the overall company BMS.
  • Work closely with the Systems and the Design teams to create requirements capture and other relevant documentation for a project.
  • Ensure that changes are recorded according to the BMS.
  • Liaise with the main project stakeholders, internal and external parties.
  • Delegate tasks to the team, work closely with the Project Manager and the Engineering Managers.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary projects (Mechanical / Electrical).
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant data control requirements.
  • Create reports and presentations as needed.
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers.
  • Mentor junior members of staff.
  • Work harmoniously with other company functions.
Qualifications
  • Degree BEng (Hons) in Mechanical, Electrical, Naval, Aerospace, or other Engineering or Scientific disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computing).
  • CEng or working towards.
  • Working experience in the field of Engineering especially Mechanical / Electrical.
  • Experience with pump systems is desirable.
  • Mid – senior level position.
  • Must be eligible for SC level clearance.

(In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 10%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.)
