Job description
Role Overview
  • Job Title: Project E&I Engineer
  • Location: Holmes Chapel, Cheshire (site-based)
  • Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
  • This is a full-time, on-site role due to the hands-on nature of the work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver electrical, instrumentation, and automation (E&I) projects across the site.
  • Contribute to the development of the site's E&I strategy to enhance reliability, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance to the maintenance team and contractors.
  • Support project leads with installation and commissioning of plant equipment and system upgrades.
  • Ensure all E&I systems comply with UK safety and regulatory standards.
  • Manage small to medium projects, including automation improvements, control system upgrades, and equipment replacements.
  • Assist with routine maintenance planning, updating procedures, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in E&I roles within regulated or process-driven industrial environments.
  • Proven ability to manage maintenance and engineering projects, including budgets.
  • Knowledge of UK electrical regulations, industrial control systems, and functional safety.
  • Experience with contractor management, permit-to-work systems, and site safety leadership.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and engineering drawings (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Eligible to work full-time in the UK without sponsorship.
