Qualifications

• Experience of projects achieving BREEAM/DREAM ratings.
• AutoCAD literate.
• Holder of a valid CSCS card and SMSTS or equivalent.

Overview

Design project manager (Bury St. Edmunds) – Mitie are recruiting for an exciting opportunity as a Design & Project Manager to help build a capability and develop a usable design library that creates innovative standardisation solutions alongside financial efficiencies. The role involves managing projects from inception to handover on a variety of technically challenging programmes, assembling a project management team, and developing design with the client through agreed procurement routes to deliver the design required under the RIBA stages of the project. The position is based at an MOD site; successful candidates will undergo a high‑level security clearance (SC level, minimum 5‑year UK work history).

Responsibilities

• Plan projects using Microsoft Project or similar programmes.
• Identify and check contents of consultants’ proposals, qualification lists, and design information to produce designs that meet client requirements.
• Undertake value engineering exercises where appropriate at an early stage in the design process.
• Build, maintain and manage a central design library to maximise efficiency on designs.
• Provide guidance and support to contractors to ensure compliance with BIM requirements and contractual design requirements.
• Undertake and frequently update BIM maturity assessments of all suppliers throughout the life of a project.
• Select appropriate tender lists for construction and answer any queries from tendering parties.
• Asset data collection and communication through CAFM systems.
